Inflatable Pipeline Stoppers
Made from high quality fibre-reinforced elastomer, Pronal inflatable pipe stoppers are used to:
Where water flow needs to be stopped, inflatable stoppers are an efficient solution. By creating an airtight seal within the pipe, they effectively stop the water flow to enable professionals in different industries to do their job and resolve the situation.
They can also be used in testing air and water pressure, locating leaks, and even allowing the injection of chemicals into a pipeline without a hazardous backup.
In addition to stoppers used within pipelines, Pronal leak sealing systems can be applied externally to pipes and tanks to provide immediate assistance in the event of accidents or emergencies. Their robust construction allows them to be used in heavy duty applications which require compatibility with hydrocarbons.
The systems' inflatable belts and pads are wrapped around the leaking pipe, or secured over other leaking surfaces, then inflated at up to 5 bar (depending on application) to press their sealing surface against the leak.
The system is quickly and easily inflated by the type of onboard compressor found in a wide variety of service vehicles, or by using a compressed air cylinder.
While designed to be extremely light weight for rapid surface, air or sea deployment (the smallest, 420X520mm unit weighs under 8 kg complete with straps) the robust system can seal external leaks affecting fire brigades, refineries and petrochemical plants. It can also be used with remote site maintenance or service vehicles used by a wide variety of industries. Held in place by belts with a breaking strain of up to five tons, the Pronair units' robust construction allows them to be used in heavy duty applications.
